titleOfInvention Footprint measurement device
abstract PURPOSE: To enable the measurement of even an ankle part with a single sensor drive mechanism, and simplify a device by changing the motion state of the sensor to a turning state along an annular locus and a reciprocating state along a partial annular locus with an upper portion cut out from the annular locus. n CONSTITUTION: A measurement zone is separated into A zone and B zone in measuring a footprint. In the A zone, a sensor 1 is turned along an annular locus Za, while the sensor 1 is reciprocated in a partial annular locus Zb with an upper portion cut out from the locus Za. The non-contact type sensor 1 such as a super-sonic sensor, an image sensor and a laser sensor is advanced to and retreated from the foot F of a subject in an arrow P direction. A material not disturbing the detecting action of the sensor 1 and strong enough to withstand even the weight of the subject like a thick and transparent acrylic plate is selected as a foot placement board 2, and this board 2 is fixed and supported on a measurement seat 3 in a cantilever condition. The sensor 1 moves n parallel to the foot placement board 2 along the linear line α of the annular locus Za, while always directed and moving toward the foot F along the curve β of the locus Za. The aforesaid partial annular locus Zb is only 'β1' and 'β2' at both sides without the center portion of the curve. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
