abstract | NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I [R 1 is H, a 1-8C alkyl, O, OH, a 1-18C alkoxy, etc.; X is -O- or a group of formula II (wherein R 2 is H, 1-18C alkyl, etc.); Y is -OR 4 , -SR 4 , etc., (wherein R 4 is a 1-18C alkyl, a 5-12C cycloalkyl, etc.); m is 2-6; Z is -O-R 7 -O-, N-(R 13 -O-) 3 , (-O-R 21 ) 2 -N-R 21 -N-(R 21 -O-) 2 , etc., (wherein R 7 is a 4-44C alkylene, etc.; R 13 is a 2-12C alkylene and R 21 is a 2-6C alkylene)]. n USE: Useful as a light stabilizer, a heat stabilizer and an oxidation stabilizer for organic materials, particularly synthetic polymers. n PREPARATION: A compound of formula III, a compound of the formula Y-H and a compound of the formula Z-(H) m are reacted with cyanuryl chloride in a solvent such as toluene at -20-40°C for the first Cl substitution, at 40-100°C for the second Cl substitution and at 100-200°C for the third Cl substitution to obtain a compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
