titleOfInvention Polishing compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a smooth polished surface having no waviness and scratches by constituting a polishing compound with alumina abrasive powder and an aqueous solution of iron chloride. n CONSTITUTION: Alumina abrasive powder and a solution of iron chloride are used in a polishing compound. In this case, the rate of the alumina abrasive powder in the compound is 30 to 40wt.%, and the averaged grain size of the primary particles is less than 5μm, and the rate of iron chloride in the compound is 0.2 to 25wt.%. With this compound it is possible to obtain a highly accurate mirror surface having no waviness and scratches, thereby it is possible to obtain a polishing compound with a high removing speed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
