abstract NEW MATERIAL:A titanylphthalocyanine capable of showing peaks at least at 9.6±0.2° and 27.2±0.2° Bragg angles (2θ) in an X ray diffraction spectrum for CuKα characteristic X rays (1.451Å wavelength) and ≥60% peak strength at 9.6±0.2° based on that at 27.2±0.2°. n USE: A pigment for electrophotographic photoreceptor having high sensitivity to light sources at a long wavelength such as semiconductor laser beams with a small residual potential and stabilized potential characteristics even in repeated use. n PREPARATION: TiCl 4 is initially reacted with phthalodinitrile in an inert high- boiling solvent such as α-chloronaphthalene and the resultant dichlorotitanium phthalocyanine is then hydrolyzed with a base or water. The formed titanylphthalocyanine is poured into water and the resultant amorphous substance is treated with a water-immiscible organic solvent in the presence of water. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
