titleOfInvention Separation of imidated acrylic resin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject imidated acrylic resin excellent in transparency and heat resistance by dissolving a specified imidated acrylic resin in a mixed solvent composed of a specified alcohol and water under heating, adding an alkali metal hydroxide, etc., thereto, cooling the resultant solution under stirring and neutralizing the cooled solution using an acid. n CONSTITUTION: An imidated acrylic resin containing gurtarimide rings in an amount of ≥3wt.% is dissolved in a mixed solvent composed of one or more alcohols selected from 1-5C aliphatic alcohol (preferably methanol) and cyclohexanol and water preferably in a weight ratio of (90:10)-(70:30) under heating and an alkali metal hydroxide and/or an alcoholate is added thereto preferably in an amount of 5-200mmol based on 100g of the above-mentioned imidated acrylic resin. The resultant mixture solution is cooled under stirring and neutralized using an acid (preferably organic acid), thus giving the objective powdery or granular imidated acrylic resin of high quality. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
