titleOfInvention Seed coating
abstract PURPOSE: To produce coated seeds capable of growing beneficial bacteria over a long period by forming the seeds on which beneficial bacteria are supported, into a slurry with an aqueous suspension of a stickly polymer and drying the slurry with air. n CONSTITUTION: The production of these coated seeds comprises: forming plant seeds together with a carrier medium and at least one kind of bacteria which has a beneficial effect on a growing plant from its seed, into a slurry with an aqueous suspension of a sticky polymer; and drying the slurry with air at ≤30°C; wherein examples of the plane seeds used are soybean seeds, lucerne seeds, clover seeds, etc., examples of the carrier medium used are beet, etc., examples of the bacteria used are Rhizobium bacteria, etc., and an example of the aqueous suspension used is an aqueous suspension that contains 10 to 20wt.% of a copolymer comprising vinylpyroolidone and vinyl acetate in a weight ratio of (vinylpyrrolidone):(vinyl acetate) of 50:50 to 70:30. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
