titleOfInvention | Pneumatic capsule for irradiating radiation |
abstract | PURPOSE: To enable employment of the title capsule under irradiation at a high dose rate by adjusting thermal stretching conditions so that a plane orientation index of a film subjected to stretch orientation will be 0.10 to 0.28 and the density thereof will be 1.345 to 1.360 g/cm 2 . n CONSTITUTION: A capsule being subjected to radiation is composed of an ori ented film formed of polyethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate (PEN-2,6) containing titanium of concentration 50 ppm or below as a catalyst residue or an additive and not containing other metal impurities substantially, and the ultimate viscosity thereof is 0.45 to 0.90, the plane orientation index 0.10 to 0.28 and the density 1.345 to 1.360 g/cm 2 . The PEN-2,6 is synthesized generally by combining a naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid or a functional derivative thereof with ethylene glycol or the functional derivative thereof in the existence of a catalyst and under appropriate conditions of reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
