titleOfInvention | New organosulfur compound, its production and resin for optical use therefrom |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A bis(vinylbenzyl)sulfide of the formula. n USE: Useful as a raw material for high-performance polymers. A resin for optical use valuable for e.g. plastic lens excellent in optical properties such as high refractive index can be obtained by the polymerization or copolymerization of the present compound. n PREPARATION: The objective compound can be obtained by reaction between (A) chloromethylstyrene and (B) sodium sulfide, potassium sulfide or sodium salt of vinylbenzyl mercaptan at the molar ratio = 1 : (0.5-2). To produce a high-refractive index resin for optical use, at least one kind of the compound of the formula is either polymerized or copolymerized with another vinyl monomer (e.g. styrene, vinyl acetate). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
