abstract PURPOSE: To improve the tensile elastic modules and elongation of the composite by using silicon carbide fiber obtd. by spinning and baking an organosilicon high molecular compound as a reinforcing material and using an alloy as a matrix. n CONSTITUTION: The fiber reinforced metal composite is formed by using a single metal or an alloy or an intermetallic compound constituted of plural metallic elements as a matrix and using silicon carbide fiber having ≤10wt.% oxygen content as a reinforcing material.
