titleOfInvention Forming of polyurethane seat pad
abstract PURPOSE: To form a boundary between a soft part and a hard part clearly in a stabilized manner without leaving a partition plate or a groove after the partition plate is removed at the top portion of a bank portion by pouring undiluted foaming liquid for forming a low hardness foam in the cavity between two partition members, at the same time pouring undiluted foaming liquid for forming a high hardness foam on both partition members, and performing foaming. n CONSTITUTION: A foaming mold 1 comprises a center portion 3 corresponding to a seating portion of a seat pad and side portions 4, 4 corresponding to a bank portion, both located in a cavity 2. Elongated partition members 6, 6 made of nonwoven fabric or synthetic resin foam to be fixed to a urethane foam are detachably attached to the outer walls 5, 5 of the side portions 4, 4. The upward angle θ of the projected portion of the plate 6 is made to be 5-70 degrees from horizontal with the width Y of the projected portion being made to be 30-80 percent of the width X of the side portion so that an approximately triangular liquid pools 7, 7 are formed above the partition members 6, 6. Dam plates 8, 8 are placed to project at the boundary between the center portion 3 and the side portions 4, 4. When a seat pad is to be manufactured, undiluted solution A for foaming a low hardness foam is poured in the cavity between partition walls 6, 6 and undiluted solution B for foaming a high hardness foam is poured on the partition members 6, 6 to make foaming occur. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
