abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a drug for the treatment of various sleep disorders by using Sn-1 oleoyl Sn-2-docosahexaenoyl glycerophosphocholine as active component. n CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains Sn-1 oleoyl Sn-2-docosahexaenoyl glycerophosphocholine existing in a phospholipid fraction in a natural lipid raw material. The compound is effective in increasing the REM sleep ratio in sleeping and applicable to the remedy for various sleep disorders having decreased REM sleep ratio, for example senile insomnia, alcoholism, depression and schizophrenia. The side effects and drug resistance are little even after the administration over a long period in order to enhance the sleep.
