The compound is effective in increasing the REM sleep ratio in sleeping and applicable to the remedy for various sleep disorders having decreased REM sleep ratio, for example senile insomnia, alcoholism, depression and schizophrenia. The side effects and drug resistance are little even after the administration over a long period in order to enhance the sleep. Furthermore, it has low toxicity and mild action and causes sleep similar to the naturally induced sleep within a physiological range. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
