titleOfInvention Recovering of isobutane and methacrolein
abstract PURPOSE: To simultaneously recycle using the method of stripping by separating methacrylic acid by means of cooling the condensed vapor-phase catalytically oxidized isobutane gas, bringing a gas containing unreacted isobutane and generated methacrolein into contact with an organic solvent and absorbing. n CONSTITUTION: Steam and supplementary isobutane are supplied from line 6. Air, a large portion of isobutane and methacrolein are recycled from a diffusion tower 5 through a line 16, then methacrylic acid and methacrolein are generated in a reactor 1. Methacrylic acid and high boiling matter are extracted from a line 8 in a quenching tower 2 and gas is introduced into an absorbing tower 3, then brought into contact with an organic solvent (e.g. n-paraffin) supplied from a line 13, thus absorbed and absorbed solution is pre-heated in a heat exchanger 4, then introduced into the diffusion tower 5. Air is introduced from a line 15 and isobutane and methacrolein in the absorbed solution are simultaneously subjected to stripping, then recycled from the line 16. Organic solvent is recycled from lines 12 and 13. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
