titleOfInvention Gel-like insecticidal composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition comprising an insecticide, a sugar, a higher fatty acid, a lower alcohol, a gelling agent, water, a base, and preferably further an antibacterial agent and a humectant, and especially useful for destroying cockroaches. n CONSTITUTION: This gel-like insecticidal composition comprises 0.25-1wt.% of an insecticide acting on stomachs, 20-40wt.% of a sugar, 2.3-4wt.% of a higher fatty acid (e.g. stearic acid), 5-7wt.% of a lower alcohol (e.g. ethanol), 0.15-2wt.% of an antibacterial agent, 0.2-0.36wt.% of a base, and water, cetyl/ stearyl alcohol (a dispersing agent), polydimethylsiloxane (a processing auxiliary), glycerol, etc., and is applied from a pressure container. The insecticide includes a pentadienone insecticide of the formula. The composition does not have a property for driving away cockroaches, can be placed in such a state as being easily taken by the insect pests, and can be held in this state for a long period, thereby enabling to maintain the potency for a long period. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
