titleOfInvention Licorice formulation for fishery
abstract PURPOSE: To uniformly distribute an extract of licorice with water into live bait by mixing 1 pt.wt. water extract of licorice with 20-100 pts.wt. powder capable of mixing into feed of fishes. n CONSTITUTION: Extraction of licorice with water is performed by adding water in an amount of about 5-15 times of licorice to crushed or finely cut root or rhizome of licorice and heated or allowed to stand at normal temperature. Resultant extract solution is concentrated and dried to obtain a brown powdery extract, then said brown extract is directly used as licorice formulation. Powder mixing with water extract of licorice is usable unless harmful for the growth of fishes. Beer yeast, wheat flour, dextrin, milk sugar, brown meal or white meal, etc., is exemplified. The mixing is sufficiently performed till a uniform mixture is formed by using a suitable mixer, etc. The necessary amount of the licorice formulation is calculated as a suitable amount to be taken by fish according to the intaked amount of feed by fish and mixed with bait raw material when the bait is prepared. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
