abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject low-abrasion conjugated fiber by applying a silicone-based lubricant to the surface of a sheath-core type conjugated fiber composed of a polymer containing a ceramics oxide having far infrared ray radiation properties as the sheath component and a polyester as the core component. n CONSTITUTION: To the surface of a sheath-core type conjugated fiber composed of a polymer (e.g. polyester-based or polyamide-based) containing, e.g. an alumina-, magnesia- or zirconia-based ceramics oxide in an amount of 3-30wt.% as the sheath component and a polyester as the core component, a lubricant mainly composed of a silicone component such as a methylhydrogenpolysiloxane or an epoxy group containing polysiloxane is made to adhere in an amount of 0.2-5wt.% based on the weight of the fiber, thus obtaining the objective low-abrasion conjugated fiber free from abrasion of equipments or damage thereto frequently occurring conventionally and having excellent far infrared ray-radiation properties. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
