titleOfInvention Production of radiation sterilizable medical device
abstract PURPOSE: To hold a medical device after radiation sterilization to a state not affected by oxygen by simple operation by receiving the medical device in a packing container and, after sealing the opening of the container, subjecting the medical device to radiation sterilization treatment in an oxygen-containing atmosphere and bringing the interior of the packing container to a vacuum state to seal the container in an airtight state. n CONSTITUTION: A cellulose acetate hollow yarn bundle containing glycerine subjected to drying treatment after immersed in a glycerine aqueous solution preliminarily containing a buffer agent is received in a cylindrical container and tube plates are formed to both surfaces of the container to prepare a blood dialyzer. This blood dialyzer is received in a packing bag composed of an aluminum/polyethylene laminate having a bacteria impermeable and air permeable part composed of a polypropylene nonwoven fabric in the vicinity of the opening thereof and, after the opening is perfectly sealed, the packing bag is irradiated with r-rays of 2.5Mrad. Thereafter, the air and other gas in the packing bag are removed through the part of the air permeable material under vacuum of 100Torr and the packing bag is perfectly sealed at the part of the aluminum/polyethylene laminate and the part of the air permeable material is cut off. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
