titleOfInvention Fiber, filament and yarn based on cellulose and polyvinyl chloride and their manufacture
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain fibers, filaments and yarns by spinning a solution comprising a specific content of cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, dimethyl sulfoxide and formaldehyde in a coagulation bath and then by orientating. CONSTITUTION: The solution consisting of cellulose having a degree of polymerization of at least 200, polyvinyl chloride, dimethyl sulfoxide and formaldehyde, the weight ratio cellulose/polyvinyl chloride being 0.05-0.5, the weight ratio formaldehyde/cellulose being 0.2-2 and the total polymer concentration being 6-20 wt.% is spanned in a coagulation bath consisting of a water of 20/80-80/20 volume ratio and dimethyl sulfoxide and kept at a temp. of 0-60 deg.C. Next, by orientating an obtained spanned fibril and removing the solvent, the objective fibers, filaments and the yarns are obtained.
