abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a flame-retardant and low-fuming polymer composition by incorporating an acrylic elastomer with melamine cyanurate and/or melamine phosphate. n CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (A) an acrylic elastomer comprising an alkyl acrylate (A 1 ) of formula I (wherein R is a 1-12C linear or branched alkyl), an acrylate (A 2 ) of formula II (wherein R 1 is a 1-6C branched or nonbranched disubstituted alkyl; and Y is O or S), an olefin (A 3 ) and at least two members (A 4 ) selected among functional monomers being copolymerizable with A 1 to A 3 and selected among formulas III to VII (wherein Q is an unsaturated organic group copolymerizable with component A 1 and A 2 ; and X is a halogen) or a mixture thereof with another resin and (B) 0.1-70 wt.%, based on the entire composition, melamine cyanurate and/or melamine phosphate and optionally other additives, a reinforcement, a lubricant, a crosslinking accelerator, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
