titleOfInvention Pigment dispersant, its production and coating agent composition for cathode electrodeposition
abstract PURPOSE: To increase the ratio of a pigment to a dispersant to 12:1 or more by using a reaction product of an org. monoepoxide or polyepoxlde and an imidazoline amine compd. expressed by a specified general formula to use as a pigment dispersant. n CONSTITUTION: An org. monoepoxide or org. polyepoxide is reacted with an imidazoline amine compd. expressed by formula I (R is 8-24C alkyl group) to obtain an imldazoline amine epoxide pigment dispersant. The obtd. imidazoline amine epoxide pigment dispersant is compounded with an epoxy- amine binder resin and a pigment in each specified amt. to prepare a coating compsn. for a cathode electrodeposition process. The obtd. pigment dispersant is dispersible with water by protonation by org. acids and causes fast amination reaction with little side reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
