abstract | PURPOSE: To improve foaming characteristics and water resistance of a coating film and heighten the wetting effectiveness even with the same thickening value by using a phosphoric ester compound represented by a specific general formula as a wetting agent for synthetic resin emulsion. n CONSTITUTION: After an alkylene oxide is added to alcohol in the usual way, a phosphorylating agent is allowed to react with this adduct in the usual way. As a result, there is obtained a compound represented by the formula I (wherein R is 4-22C alkyl and alkenyl group and phenyl group substituted with 1-20C contg. substituent, A is 2-4C alkylene group, (n) is zero or an integer of 1-100, (p+q)=3 (wherein (p) represents 1 or 2 separately or in mixed form), and M is hydrogen or salt thereof).
