abstract |
PURPOSE:To form the title lubricant to be injected between a mold and a cast piece in continuous casting of steel, which can be easily supplied through a wall of a mold and causes no operational and quality problem even in contact with a high temperature cast piece by adding a salt mixture powder and a thixotropant each in a specified amount to a specified base oil. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil to be injected between a mold and a cast piece in continuous casting of steel, which is formed by preparing a suspension of 10-70wt.% salt mixture powder (e.g. a powder of a mixture of SiO2, Na2O, and Li2O) in 10-89.5wt.% base oil (e.g. purified mineral oil) having an iodine value of 30 or less and adding 0.5-20wt.% thixotropant (e.g. organic bentonite) to the suspension. |
