titleOfInvention Polymerization catalyst
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polymn. catalyst improved in catalytic capability by reacting a specific silicon-contg. compd. with a magnesiumdialkyl, an alcohol, a halide-contg. metal compd., an aluminum alkoxide, and a halide-contg. metal compd. successively in this order. n CONSTITUTION: An Si-contg. compd. represented by formula I (wherein R is a 1-10C hydrocarbyl; X is a halogen; and (n) is 1-4) is reacted with a magnesiumdialkyl represented by formula II (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each a 2-10C alkyl) in a 5-10C alkane solvent and then with an alcohol represented by formula III (wherein R 3 is R). The reaction product is further reacted with a halide-contg. metal compd. (the metal being Ti, Zr, or V) in a 1-10C alkane solvent, then with an aluminum alkoxide represented by formula IV (wherein R 5 is a 2-4C alkyl), and with a halide-contg. metal compd. (the metal being Ti, Zr, or V). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
