titleOfInvention Axial hydroxy and mono-and dicarboxylic acid derivative exhibiting strong antitumor activity, soluble in water and solvent
abstract NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I or formula II (A and B are each ammine, monodentate amine, etc.; A and B in the formula I are each coordinated to the Pt atom via the N atom; X and Y are each halogen; R' and R" are each H, C 1-20 alkanoyl, etc.; n' is 1 or 2; when n' is 1, then one of X' and X" is halogen and the other is C 1-10 acyloxy, and Y' and Y" are each C 1-10 acyl; when n' is 2, then X' and X" are each halogen and at least two of four Y' and Y" are cross-linked by formula III, formula IV, etc., and the rest is H, aroyl, etc.). n USE: The subject compound is useful as antitumor agents exhibiting low toxicity against kidney or bone marrow and high activity. n PROCESS: [Equatorial]dichloro[axial]dihydroxydiisopropylamine-Pt intermediate is dissolved in an acid. The solution is reacted preferably at 25°C for 1-3 weeks and extracted with ethyl ether. Then, the extract is further purified. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
