NEW MATERIAL: A butenone compound of formula I (R 1 is pyridyl or thiazolyl, substd. independently by one or more substituents selected from halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, cyano, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylamino and dialkylamino; R 2 is H, alkyl or alkylcarbonyl; R 3 is alkyl; R 4 is haloalky; X is S or N-R 5 ; R 5 is H, alkyl or alkylcarbonyl; n is 0 or 1). n EXAMPLE: 1-Dimethylamino1-methylthio-4,4,4trifluoro-1buten-3-one. n USE: Useful as agrochemicals, especially pesticides. n PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III (R 6 is alkyl; R 7 is alkyl) to give a compound of formula I when R 3 is R 7 . n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
