abstract PURPOSE: To emulsify a soln. contg. hydrophobic additive with the oil drops which are small in size and are unified in size distribution by adding an additive soln. through a porous film of a specific pore size existing in the aq. soln. directly into the liquid. n CONSTITUTION: This device consists of an aq. dispersion medium soln. 1, a porous film additive system 2a, stirring vanes 3, an emulsifying vessel 4, an oil soln. 5, a gaseous pressure controller 6, a gas cylinder 7, a vent valve 71 and a stop valve 72. The photographically effective hydrophobic compd. is dissolved in an org. solvent or is dissolved together with a surfactant into the org. solvent. The additive compd. is added directly into the aq. hydrophilic dispersion medium soln. 1 added with the surfactant at need through the porous film of ≤0.3μmϕ average pore size existing in this aq. soln., by which the oil-in- water type emulsion is prepd.
