titleOfInvention Production of sulfur-containing acrylic compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound useful as a raw material for lens resins having a high refractive index in high yield and purity by reacting a sulfur-containing polyol with methyl (meth)methacrylate in the presence of an N,N-dialkylhydroxylamine. n CONSTITUTION: A sulfur-containing polyol, preferably a compound expressed by formula I (R 3 and R 4 are 1-12C hydrocarbon group; R 5 is 2-12C oxydialkylene or 6-20C aralkylene; X is halogen except F; l and m are 1, 2 or 3; n is an integer of 0-4; p is a number of ≤10 representing the average degree of oligomerization) is reacted with methyl acrylate and/or methyl methacrylate in the presence of a compound expressed by formula II (R 1 and R 2 are 1-6C saturated hydrocarbon group) to afford a colorless liquid sulfur-containing acrylic compound useful as a raw material for polymers, used as optical lenses, prisms, etc., having a high refractive index and excellent in preservation stability in high yield. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
