titleOfInvention | Foliar spray for controlling blight of agricultural and horticultural crop |
abstract | PURPOSE: To control blights by obtaining the title spray comprising an alkali metal silicate as an active ingredient, harmless to human and animal and applying the spray to leaves of agricultural and horticultural crops. n CONSTITUTION: The title spray containing an alkali metal silicate (e.g. Na 2 SiO 3 , Na 4 SiO 4 , Na 2 Si 2 O 5 , Na 2 Si 4 O 9 , K 2 SiO 3 , KHSi 2 O 5 or K 2 Si 4 O 9 .H 2 O) alone or a mixture thereof as an active ingredient. The spray is usually prepared into an agricultural chemical as a concentrated solution and when used, the spray is diluted with water into 0.006-0.025mg/ml concentration of metal silicate and applied to crops by a spraying machine so that the whole surface of leaves is uniformly wetted. The agricultural chemical may contain auxiliaries such as stabilizer or spreader to sufficiently fix the sprayed agricultural chemical to leaves and may be mixed with other agricultural chemical components. The spray is applied to paddy rice plant, potato, cucumber, watermelon, strawberry, pear, grape, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
