titleOfInvention | Method for making solid surface water-and oil-repellent |
abstract | PURPOSE: To form a plasma-polymerized film excellent in the adhesion with a solid substrate surface by plasma polymerising a mixed gas contg. a fluorinated ketone and a hydrocarbon and forming a thin polymer film on the substrate surface. n CONSTITUTION: A mixed gas at least contg. a fluorinated ketone and a hydrocarbon is plasma polymerized to form a thin polymer film on a solid surface. A typical example of the fluorinated ketone is hexafluoroacetone. Examples of the hydrocarbon are ethane, ethylene, acetylene, benzene, and propylene; one contg. a double or triple bond in the molecule is pref. since it facilitates the build-up of the film. The mixing ratio of the two gases is arbitrarily selected depending upon the degree of desired water and oil repellency. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
