titleOfInvention Sustained release vasodilator
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a sustained release vasodilator usable in a state directly embedded in the lesion exhibiting sure therapeutic effect over a long period of time and having high safety by including a solution of a vasodilator into a crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel. n CONSTITUTION: A solution of a nontoxic agent having vasodilating action (e.g. papaverine hydrochloride, nicardipine hydrochloride, diltiazem or chinnarizine) is included into a crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel produced by crosslinking hyaluronic acid or its salt with a crosslinking agent (e.g. divinylsulfone or epoxy compound). The drug is included in the lattice of the three-dimensional network structure of the crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel and released into the environment by diffusion. The releasing rate of the drug into the environment can be controlled by the crosslinking degree of the hyaluronic acid gel and the concentration of the drug. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
