NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (W is O or S; X is lower alkyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl; R is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, alkali metal, etc.; R 1 and R 2 are halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; (n) is 3-5; (m) is 0-2; dotted line is single bond or double bond) or optically active isomer thereof. n USE: A herbicide. n PREPARATION: A cyclic alcohol or cyclic thioalcohol expressed by formula II is mixed with a pyrimidine compound expressed by formula III (R 3 is halogen, alkylsulfonyl, etc.) at an arbitrary ratio, preferably at an equimolar ratio of the compound expressed by formula III and compound expressed by formula II and are reacted, as necessary, in the presence of a base (e.g. metal sodium or sodium hydride) in a solvent (e.g. benzene or toluene) to provide the compound expressed by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
