titleOfInvention Electrochromic film
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electrochromic layer having excellent durability and electrochromic characteristics by mixing a suitable amt. of a solid electrolyte with the electrochromic layer at the time of forming the electrochromic by layer a coating method. n CONSTITUTION: This electrochromic film consists of a high-polymer film 1, a transparent conductive layer 2, the electrochromic layer, i.e. EC layer 3, the high-polymer solid electrolyte layer 4, and an oxidation reduction material layer 5. The formation of the EC layer 4 by the coating method is executed by dissolving, for example, an oxalic acid compd., nitric acid compd. or peroxide contg. a transition metal element into a soln., and applying this soln. on a transparent electrode, then drying the coating. A soln. of a solid electrolyte and supporting electrolyte is adquately mixed with this soln. and such soln. is used as a coating liquid. The peeling and cracking of the EC layer 3 by a drying heat treatment are prevented in this way. In addition, the solid electrolyte molecules part the EC molecules from each other and, therefore, the same effect of forming the porous EC layer is obtd. and the coloring and decoloring characteristics at the time of impressing voltages are improved. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
