titleOfInvention Production of catalyst for olefin polymerization
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title spherical catalyst having large particle diameters, providing a polymer having excellent particle diameters and particle size distribution by spraying a Mg compound-alcohol solution to give a spherical solid component, partially drying the component and treating the component with Ti halide and electron donor. n CONSTITUTION: A reactor replaced with nitrogen is charged with anhydrous magnesium oxide and dried ethanol, the mixture thereof is heated and dissolved while stirring to prepare a magnesium compoundalcohol solution shown by the formula MgCl 2 .nROH (R is 1-10C alkyl; n is 3.0-6.0), which is sprayed from a spray nozzle in a spray column kept at -15°C to give a spherical solid component without evaporation of alcohol. Then the component is partially dried and treated with a titanium halide (e.g. titanium tetrachloride) and an electron donor (e.g. diisobutyl phthalate) to give the objective catalyst for polymerization. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
