titleOfInvention | Thermoplastically processable graft polymer and its production |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a graft polymer having excellent thermal processing characteristics by adding styrol-maleic acid to amino acid or lactam to melt all of them in inert gas and stirring the molten matter under specific pressure. n CONSTITUTION: Styrol maleic anhydride represented by formula (wherein m is 1-5 and n is 3-15) is added to amino acid and/or lactam and the resulting mixture is melted in inert gas to be stirred until a desired mol.wt. is obtained under pressure generated at temp. of up to 290°C to obtain an objective graft polymer. This graft polymer mainly consists of a styrol/maleimide fundamental structural unit and grafted polyamino acids. It is advantageous to use amino acid and/or lactam in order to produce a polyamino acid chain. Especially caprolactam, enantlactam and laurinlactam and corresponding aminocarboxylic acid, for example, ω-aminododecanoic acid and aminomethylbenzoic acid are used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
