Solubility; readily soluble in chloroform, methanol, ethanol, benzene, ethyl acetate and acetone, sparingly soluble in n-hexane, petroleum ether and ethyl ether and insoluble in water. Color reaction; positive to the iodine, sulfuric acid reaction, etc., and negative to BCG, FeCl 3 .
