titleOfInvention Agent for preventing infection with mycoplasma
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an agent for preventing mycoplasma infection, containing tea as an active component, free from side effects against human body and effective in inhibiting mycoplasma activity at low concentration and preventing the infection of mycoplasma. n CONSTITUTION: Tea is used as an active component of the objective agent. The main component is tea polyphenol (a component of tea) such as tea catechin of formula I (R 1 is H or OH; R 2 is H, etc.) or tea theaflavin of formula II (R 3 and R 4 are H, etc.). The tea catechin and tea theaflavin are e.g. epigallocatechin Galata, epicatechin gallate, free theaflavin, theaflavin monogallate A, etc. These tea polyphenols or tea leaves are mixed directly or in the form dissolved in water, alcohol, etc. The concentration is preferably 0.2-10% for tea and 50μg/ml for tea polyphenol. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
