abstract | PURPOSE: To improve frame retardancy without causing a drop in physical properties by blending a flame retarder having a specific structure to a thermoplastic resin and then extrusion-molding it after mixing and dispersion thereof. n CONSTITUTION: A flame retardant compound is halogenated pentaerythritol phosphate as shown in formula (1) and as a halogen group, chlorine, bromide, iodine and the like are given, however, it is preferred to employ particularly bromine among these groups in view of the aspect of material supply and the point of effect. For manufacturing an extrusion board, it is preferable that a method is taken in a respect of the stability in that after thermoplastic resin and flame retarder are mixed preliminarily in a predetermined amount by an agitator such as a grinder or the like, it is supplied into an extruder and subjected to extrusion molding. Although the board is used for manufacturing various kinds of products having flame retardancy by a secondary process, heat molding process and the like, it is suitable in particular for utilizing as a flame retardant board for lighting covers among those products. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
