abstract | PURPOSE: To accurately measure the amount of org. peroxide with high sensitivity, in a method for measuring the amount of org. peroxide represented by a specific formula, by using a sea firefly luciferin derivative represented by other specific formula as a luminescent reagent in the presence of a catalyst containing a transition metal selected from a group consisting of vanadyl or the like. n CONSTITUTION: In a method for measuring the amount of org. peroxide represented by formula I (wherein R 1 and R 2 are respectively a 1 - 20C alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an acyl group or an aroyl group) by a chemoluminescent method, a sea firefly luciferin derivative represented by formula II (wherein X is a hydrogen atom or a 1 - 4C alkoxy group) is used as a luminescent reagent in the presence of a catalyst containing a transition metal selected from a group consisting of vanadium, chromium, cerium, tungsten, manganese, cobalt, iron, copper and a mixture thereof.
