abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid crystal material for an electrochemical liquid crystal information memorizing device or the like, which has high electric resistance, and by which the fatigue in the continuous use can be reduced, and a large area device can be manufactured, by reacting specific polysiloxane and mesodienic end alkene. n CONSTITUTION: The proper poly-(hydrogen methyl/dimethyl) siloxane, and mesodienic end alkene are reacted in the presence of a proper catalyst, to obtain the desired liquid crystal polymer of formula I [M is formula II (ring P and Q are phenyl, trans-cyclohexyl, pyridyl, pyrimidinyl, dioxanyl, or the like; A is COO, OOC or the like; (m) is 0 or 1; X and Z are H or F; Y is alkyl, halogen, CF 3 , CN or the like); Me is methyl; R is methyl, ethyl or the like; R 1 is a 1-12C alkyl or the like; (n) is 3-11; 0<b/a<3 or the like]. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
