titleOfInvention Decoloration of colored wastewater and apparatus for decoloration
abstract PURPOSE: To decolorize colored wastewater easily and efficiently and make it harmless by adding sodium hypochlorite to colored wastewater discharged from a dyeing plant, stirring the wastewater for decoloration, then adding sodium thiosulfate to the resulting wastewater, and stirring the wastewater for neutralization of chlorine in the wastewater. n CONSTITUTION: When colored wastewater discharged from a dyeing plat, etc., is stored in a reaction tank 1, sodium hypochlorite is added to the wastewater in the tank and a stirring system 2 is operated. The colored wastewater and sodium hypochlorite are reacted each other uniformly by rotation of a stirring blade 17 and the colored wastewater is gradually decolorized and at the same time chlorine remains in the wastewater. When the color of the wastewater disappears sodium thiosulfate is added to the wastewater in the reaction tank 1. The sodium thiosulfate reacts with the remaining chlorine rapidly by stirring and neutralize the wastewater and convert the remaining chlorine into a harmless compound. After the amount of the remaining chlorine is measured by a remaining chlorine measuring system and when the amount decreased to less than or equal to the standard value, the decolorized wastewater is discharged to rivers, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
