titleOfInvention Benzenesulfonic acid anilides and germicide for agriculture
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R is difluoromethyl or trifluoromethyl; X is halogen or nitro; m is 1 or 2; n is 0-4; but n+m≤5). n EXAMPLE: 2-Methyl-5-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid (3-chloro-4-trifluoromethyl) anilide. n USE: A germicide for agriculture. The compound of formula I exhibits a strong action particularly as a soil disease central agent and is useful for the Plasmodiophora brassicao of Cruciferae plants. n PREPARATION: A compound of formula II (hal is halogen) is reacted with a compound of formula III in an inactive organic solvent at 0-300°C preferably in the presence of an acid-combining agent (e.g., 4-dimethylaminopyridine) to provide the compound of formula I. The compound of formula III and the acid- combining agent are used in amounts of 1-1.5 times mol and 0.3-1.5 times mol, representatively, per mol of the formula II. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
