titleOfInvention | Concentration of ethanol |
abstract | PURPOSE: To enable the title concentration to be accomplished to a level of purity equivalent to or higher than that for distillation process through supercritical gas extraction process alone by concentration of ethanol through the supercritical gas extraction process using carbon dioxide under the control of extraction temperature. n CONSTITUTION: When ethanol is to be concentrated through the supercritical gas extraction process using carbon dioxide, extraction temperatures are specified according to the ethanol concentration in an ethanol-contg. aqueous solution; for higher ethanol concentration, higher temperature is selected. It is preferable that the extraction be made at ≤40°C within the lower concentration range (meaning a range of <90wt.% in ethanol concentration) while at 50-70°C within the higher concentration range (meaning a range of ≥90wt.% in ethanol concentration). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
