titleOfInvention Production of indefinite embryo
abstract PURPOSE: To produce indefinite embryos in a mass at a low cost by using two kinds of media containing benzyladenine and indoleacetic acid at different concentrations and culturing the lateral bud or apical bud of a plant belonging to genus Camellia in two specific stages. n CONSTITUTION: A lateral bud or apical bud of a plant belonging to genus Camellia (e.g., Camellia sinensis) is cultured in a medium containing 3-30mg/l of benzyladenine and 0.05-2mg/l of indoleacetic acid and further containing an inorganic component (e.g., nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium), a carbon source (e.g., glucose), vitamins, amino acids, etc. An undeveloped leaf of the obtained plant body is cultured in a medium containing 1-15mg/l of benzyladenine and 1-5mg/l of indoleacetic acid to obtain the objective indefinite embryo. A normal plant body is produced by the cultivation of the indefinite embryo. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
