abstract PURPOSE: To improve impact resistance, toughness and flexibility without deteriorating the excellent properties of a polyphenylene sulfide resin, by compounding the resin with a thermoplastic polyester and a specific resin. n CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. polyphenylene sulfide resin with an MW of 10000 or higher and an m.p. of 275-290°C is compounded with 5-100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester with an intrinsic viscosity (in 6:4 mixed solvent of phenol and tetrachloroethane, at 30°C) of 0.3-1.5dl/g, and 2-75 pts.wt. specific resin comprising a thermoplastic polyester elastomer with a flexural modulus of 100-300kg/cm 2 and/or an epoxy resin with an epoxy equivalent of 100-1000, and melt kneaded. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
