titleOfInvention Production of 7-substituted indole compounds
abstract PURPOSE: To industrially and regioselectively obtain the subject compounds useful as the raw materials, etc., for medicines in a simple process and in a good yield by using an indole compound having a specified substituent at 7-position as an intermediate. n CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I [R 1 is -COR 3 (R 3 is monovalent group); R 2 is substituent; n is 0, 1-5] is used as an intermediate and a compound of formula II (R 4 is hydroxy or nitro) or formula III is obtained. The above reaction is carried out by using an N,N-dimethylformamide-water-based mixture solvent in the presence of copper sulfate.penta hydrate. The amount of copper sulfate.penta hydrate used is 1-10 equivalent, preferably order of 5 equivalent and the amount of the mixture solvent used is 5-40 pts.wt., preferably 15-30 pts.wt. The reaction temperature is 80-130°C, preferably order of 125°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
