titleOfInvention Production of foil-like titanium alloy
abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to produce a Ti alloy foil having a required thickness, by depositing the powder of a Ti-base alloy on a base body surface, on which a base body foil is previously formed by plasma thermal spraying, and separating the formed foil from the base body. n CONSTITUTION: Gas is introduced from a supply pipe 38 into a chamber 88 and RR electric power is impressed on the strand 80 of a coil to excite the introduced gas. Plasma 90 is generated in the housing of a plasma gun 30 to heat the surface of a drum 62. The base body foil 102 consisting of high m.p. metal is previously formed on the outside surface of the drum 62. The powder particles of the Ti-base foil are introduced into the plasma 90 from a powder supply pipe 44 and are melted. The melt is deposited on the base body foil 102 on the drum 62 by thermal spraying. The base body foil 102 and the deposited foil are removed from the drum 62. The base body foil is melted by an acidic soln. and is removed from the deposited foil. The foil is subjected to a heat treatment at need. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
