abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A carbapenem compound expressed by formula I (R 1 is protect ing group of carboxyl group: R 2 and R 3 are protecting groups of amino groups). n EXAMPLE: 4-Nitrobenzyl(1R,5S,6S)-[(R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1-methyl-]1,2-di(4-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl)pyrazolldin-4-yl]thiocarbapenem-3-carboxylate. n USE: Useful as an intermediate for compounds, expressed by formula V, having excellent antimicrobial activity and useful as an antimicrobial agent. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a metallic catalyst in an inert solvent and cyclized to provide an oxo compound expressed by formula III, which is then acylated and converted into a reactive derivative at the oxo group. The resultant compound is subsequently reacted with a mercaptopyrazolidine expressed by formula IV or a reactive derivative thereof to readily afford the compound expressed by formula I in good yield in one pot. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
