NEW MATERIAL:A compound having a clear diffraction peak at 27.3° Bragg angle (2θ±0.2°) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum. n USE: An electric charge generating material, such as photosensitive substance for semiconductor laser printing, capable of providing a highly durable photosensitive substance with high sensitivity and charge stability, highly sensitive to light at long wavelengths and excellent in other electrical characteristics. n PREPARATION: For example, 1,2-dicyanobenzene (o-phthalodinitrile) is reacted with TiCl 4 in an organic solvent (preferably trichlorobenzene, etc.) at 180-250°C to form dichlorotitanium phthalocyanine expressed by formula II (Pc is phthalocyanine residue), which is successively washed with a reaction solvent and alcohols and then treated with hot water until the pH of washings attains 5-7. Thereby, hydrolysis is carried out. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
