abstract | PURPOSE: To improve compatibility with and dispersibility in unsatd. polyester resins, etc., the shrinkage resistance and coating characteristics of a molded item, etc., by incorporating two specified constituting units and a vinyl monomer unit contg. a COOH group or an acid anhydride group. n CONSTITUTION: The title copolymer contg. 10-80wt.% (hereinbelow merely %) constituting units of formula I [wherein R 1-2 are each H or CH 3 and at least one of them is H; R 3 is a 1-18C aliph. or alicyclic hydrocarbon group or formula III (wherein R 5 is a 1-18C hydrocarbon group; m is 2-3; r is 1-5); n is 5-90], 20-89.9% constituting units of formula II (wherein R 4 is a 1-3C alkyl) and 0.1-5% vinyl monomer units having a COOH group or an acid anhydride group in such a way that the sum of these three constituting units is 60% or higher is obtd. by reacting a crotonic acid-(meth)acrylate macromer (A), a vinyl carboxylate monomer (B) (e.g., vinyl acetate) and a vinyl monomer contg. a COOH group or an acid anhydride group (C) (e.g., crotonic acid) with one another. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
