abstract PURPOSE:To realize the favorable filling property of urethane stock liquid, accelerate the polymerization of foam and contrive to shorten its molding time by a method wherein polymerization catalyst is mixed with the urethane stock liquid in a filling space. CONSTITUTION:Adhesive 6 is applied to a wall face on the inner box 3 side of a thick wall part 4a in a filling space 4 so as to adhere powdered polymerization catalyst 5 to said wall face by scattering. After that, under the condition that a reinforcing mold is inserted in the inner box 3, the proper amount of agitated urethane stock liquid is poured from a casting and foaming machine. Thus, the polymerization, in which two major components turn into resin by urethane bond, and the gas blowing reaction, in which bubbles are developed by gas developing agent, develop in the filling space 4, resulting in fully expanding the urethane stock liquid in the filling space 4 and producing urethane foam. When urethane stock liquid, which has expanded during the expansion course, enters the thick wall part 4a of the filling space 4, the polymerization catalyst 5 adhered to the wall face of the thick wall part 4a is mixed with the stock liquid by being caught in it, resulting in enhancing the concentration of catalyst at the part 4a and accelerate the hardening of the foam at the part.
