titleOfInvention Elastic buffer circuit
abstract PURPOSE: To operate an elastic buffer circuit normally by detecting a discontinuous clock and applying initial set to the elastic buffer circuit even if a recovered clock inputted externally is in burst shape or one clock is missing. n CONSTITUTION: If a 1st clock inputted externally is interrupted by one clock, only an output 3 keeps an H level by two clocks among outputs 3-6 of a ring counter 2 at the point of time when the clock 1 is missing and the level of outputs 4-6 keeps an L level for 5 clocks. Thus a reset signal being the output of the ring counter 2 is given to three tetral counters 28-30 except the counter 27 of a clock discontinuous detection circuit 13 with a delay of one clock. Thus, the elastic buffer circuit is operated normally by presetting the tetral counter 17 into the initial state controlling the ring counter 2 and a multiplexer 24 with an output 16 being the result of differentiating the tail of an output 14 ORing carry outputs of the tetral counters 27-30. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
